A few stubborn maples live near my home. Each Autumn the leaves on these trees are the last to loosen their grip on the old season. They eventually fall to the ground in glorious shades of red, yellow and gold in surrender to Mother Nature’s command. This piece was inspired by these maples and follows their journey from the first brisk day of Autumn to everything after.
