Key of G

My first paid commission was to write the music for David Mamet’s adaptation of Three Sisters for the Atlantic Theater Company. I composed a march for trumpets and drums to be played at the end of the play. We only ended up using about four bars. The music was heard far far offstage in the distance over the closing speeches made by the sisters. The night we opened, The Persian Gulf War broke out. This piece is both for Chekhov’s soldiers and the for the soldiers who made the journey overseas that winter.
