My best friend Robin Goldsby lives an ocean away, in Germany. We correspond daily via e-mail. For years, we’ve been witnesses to each other’s lives. We’ve cheered one another on, mourned losses, shared advice, points of view, and traded stories about our daily experiences as musicians. This business of music can be a strange one. For me, it occurs mostly in a vacuum. Other than the two hours I’m on stage in concert, my days are spent alone- working on music, practicing, and doing the office work that’s part of running a music business. When I’ve needed it most, my best friend has come through to show me the way. Seeing myself through her eyes has kept me going at times. Here’s a tribute to our friendship, going strong since 1985.
